The City Council of Candelaria has concluded two projects of professional guidance for employment and assistance for self-employment that were intended to care for young people under 30 years of age and long-term unemployed people.
“From the council we are very satisfied with the results of both projects that have been subsidized by the Canary Islands Employment Service,” says the mayor, Mari Brito. She thanks the staff for the work carried out and highlights that in the nine months that the initiatives have lasted, 634 job seekers have been assisted and advised.
The first of the projects was aimed at young people under 30 years of age. Through it, 290 people were served. In the one for the long-term unemployed elderly, attention was given to 344, not only from Candelaria, but from the entire region of Valle de Güímar.
The advice consisted of job orientation with between two or three individual sessions in which the updating of the job demand, the opening of personalized insertion itineraries for the improvement of employability and, finally, group workshops related to the improvement processes and skills for job search.
