Success Story: Santa Cruz de Tenerife Local Clears 40,000 Euros Debt Using Second Chance Law

A resident from Santa Cruz de Tenerife successfully eliminates a debt of 40,000 euros through the Second Chance Law. DJA, aged 41, found himself in a challenging financial situation due to unexpected expenses, including home renovations, divorce, and an illness that impacted his income.

Following his separation, he struggled to cover rent for his new place and child support for his three kids. While managing for a while, the diagnosis of degenerative osteoarthritis forced him to go on a two-year leave from his job as a salesman.

These circumstances made it impossible for him to meet his credit obligations, leading to bankruptcy due to insolvency. He sought help through Canarias Sin Debta and the Second Chance Law.

Canarias Sin Debuda’s lawyer, Simone Panzanelli, highlighted the commonality of DJA’s situation: “Many clients face a scenario where they feel overwhelmed by debt, resorting to more loans to pay off previous debts, thus escalating the amount owed and the pressure from creditors. The Second Chance Law provides a way out when payments become unmanageable.”

DJA shared, “I went through a tough period, caught in a whirlwind of situations: home repairs, moving, divorce, child support payments, and finally, an illness that prevented me from keeping up with credits that were initially manageable.”
