A dance suspended after a police charge and several brawls at a festival, the balance of Saturday night in Tenerife



Agents of the Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife went in the early hours of last Sunday to a popular dance that was held in Valleseco, where there had been several disturbances of public order.

Arriving at the scene in support of the police units that were operating there, the agents encountered a succession of small brawls that led to a more massive one. Given these events and the large number of people who gathered there, the police carried out a preventive charge to disperse people and try to clarify what happened, reports the City Council.

As a result of that brawl, a 62-year-old man was injured, who after being assisted by a health resource was transferred to the Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria.

The Local Police were joined by the National Police and, given the massive fight and to guarantee the safety of the people who were at the celebration, the suspension of the dance was determined already in the early hours of the morning.

The agents collected various information from several witnesses to try to find out the identity of the alleged aggressor, although without positive results so far.

Another brawl in Los Campitos

That same night, previously, there was another incident in the popular festival in the neighborhood of Los Campitos. There, the agents arrested a 29-year-old man for the alleged assault on another 30-year-old man. The police intervention occurred thanks to various citizen requests to come and put order in the place.

In fact, the local police officers went to identify a young man who was causing various altercations and causing inconvenience to the attendees, but once there a brawl occurred in which a man was injured by a strong blow to the face and his subsequent fall. to the ground, while her assailant tried to escape. A police crew chased this person until they caught up with him and arrested him, although they also had to prevent other people, apparently relatives of the victim, from beating this young man.

Due to the nature of the injuries, the support of a health resource from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) was requested, which provided first assistance and proceeded to transfer the injured person to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital. Various testimonies were also collected that confirmed the identity of the aggressor, as well as the circumstances of the events that occurred. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.

Also in this service, administrative acts were processed for a 19-year-old boy who was previously causing problems in the area of ​​the aforementioned festival for disobedience to the agents of the authority and refusing to identify himself.
