Two people sustained injuries of varying degrees on Thursday afternoon after an incident involving a motorbike on Obispo Romo Street, in the neighbourhood of Escaleritas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The most severely affected was a 68-year-old man, who upon initial assessment had a serious head injury, according to the Emergency Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands. He was subsequently transported by a medicalised ambulance to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín, where he remained under observation. The motorcyclist also suffered a moderate leg injury, and barring complications, was evacuated to the same hospital after receiving initial treatment at the scene. The incident occurred shortly after half past seven in the evening, when the pedestrian was struck by the motorcycle. Local Police have taken charge of investigating the causes and establishing potential liabilities.

On another note, a head-on collision involving two cars in Punta del Hidalgo, in La Laguna (Tenerife), resulted in four injuries, with two being diagnosed as moderate, while the other two were initially deemed mild due to thoracic trauma.
