SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 14th February (EUROPA PRESS) –

The focus is on promoting quality processes in companies to enhance their competitiveness through the Tenerife Quality Observatory, as the Cabildo of Tenerife propels the initiative.

The platform instigated by the Commerce and Business Support area aims to foster a culture of quality on the island, serving as a nexus for information related to quality and bringing together companies, professionals, specialized entities, public and private organizations, as well as citizens.

Accompanied by Luis Domínguez, President Rosa Dávila, Vice President Lope Afonso, Minister of Commerce and Business Support Kirsten Martín, and Minister of Citizen Assistance and Quality of Services Candelaria Padrón, visited the Insular Center for Quality and Responsible Consumption on Wednesday.

Rosa Dávila highlighted that the Insular Center for Quality and Responsible Consumption operates on two fronts, promoting responsible consumption and quality through the Observatory.

The initiative includes 18 in-person workshops and 10 online sessions. It involves collaboration with consulting firms, who in turn work with various companies, mainly SMEs, to establish a quality department. This aims to ensure the provision of satisfactory services to clients and consumers and improve their competitiveness.

Lope Afonso emphasized the importance of guiding consumers in adopting responsible consumption habits, prevention, and training, as well as supporting companies in promoting and implementing quality policies.

Kirsten Martín explained that the Quality Observatory encourages companies to strive for excellence and align with sustainability and quality, aiming to also reach small and medium-sized companies to promote such policies and enhance their competitiveness in offering citizen-centric services.

The Tenerife Quality Observatory endeavors to generate and support initiatives that reinforce the foundations facilitating the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems and excellence in companies and organizations on the island.

This service, hosted on calidadtenerife.org, is a crucial tool for promoting the culture of quality, offering information, supporting quality infrastructures, energizing island agents operating in the quality domain, and preparing situation and monitoring studies, among other responsibilities.

The objective is to unite the reality of quality and consumption in society, states a note from the corporation, and the Observatory aims to be the island’s reference in terms of quality, considering aspects such as environmental responsibility, social business, and innovation.

PRECISE AND CURRENT INFORMATION

This entity, under the Cabildo administration, aims to enhance business competitiveness through the examination, analysis, and progression of new trends and quality management models nationally and internationally, particularly focused on overseeing and promoting quality implementation in Tenerife.

Noteworthy activities of the Observatory include quality monitoring in Tenerife, gathering, exchanging, analyzing, and disseminating reliable and updated information on the state and evolution of quality in Tenerife. It also prepares studies on the status and requirements of local companies and the available quality resources in Tenerife.

Additionally, it conducts self-assessment of online management systems, compiles annual reports reflecting the situation regarding the Observatory’s scope, and designs and publishes technical documents.

Another facet of its operation involves invigorating agents through specialized work and opinion forums, and rolling out awareness campaigns on product and service quality.
