The Santa Cruz Carnival Comparsas competition will hold its second session today featuring the awards for the Rhythm and Harmony category, named after Manuel Monzón. The nine competing groups will showcase one of the most eagerly awaited shows of the festivities on Francisco La Roche Avenue, starting at 9:00 p.m. The winners will be announced once the competition concludes, around 00:00, from the stage in La Candelaria Square. Along with the top three prizes and the runner-up prize, the best standard or flag will also be distinguished.
With the street celebrations starting yesterday, the programme continues today on the stage of Plaza de La Candelaria with performances by the adult and children’s murgas, winners in this Carnival, between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. At 11:30 p.m., the Acapulco Orchestra will take the stage, followed by the Tropin Orchestra at 1:45 a.m., and concluding with the Olimpia Sonora Orchestra at 4:00 a.m.
In Plaza del Príncipe, the rondallas will be in the spotlight from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., the Zona 7 group will perform at 11:30 p.m., followed by the Orquesta Generación at 1:45 a.m., and Nueva Línea will take the stage at 4:00 a.m. The musical groups will grace the Francisco La Roche stage from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Rhythm and Harmony competition will take place between 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m., followed by DJ Adam Lorr, DJ Deepa Daswani at 1:00 a.m., and DJ Ubay at 2:00 a.m.
The children’s stage, located in Bulevar Park Square, will feature children’s murgas from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
