SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Feb. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Earlier this Friday, Maritime Rescue successfully carried out the rescue of a vessel carrying 41 individuals. The vessel was located just over eight kilometers (4.5 nautical miles) to the west of the port of Colón, on the coast of Adeje (Tenerife). This information was provided to Europa Press by the institutional entity and the Red Cross.
The ‘Volcán de Taburiente’ weapons ship identified and located the vessel. Subsequently, the Alpheratz sea rescue was activated following the alert from Maritime Rescue. The rescue operation successfully retrieved the 41 migrants, all of whom were men and women of sub-Saharan origin. This took place around 9:15 a.m.
Following the successful rescue, all the immigrants were transported to the Los Cristianos dock in Arona, where they arrived at 10:00 am.
