Paraglider sustains moderate injuries following an incident in Adeje

A paraglider sustained moderate injuries after an accident at the Taucho paraglider takeoff area in the municipality of Adeje (Tenerife), according to reports from the 1-1-2 Canary Islands Emergency and Safety Coordination Center.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon near the mentioned location, prompting the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) helicopter to be dispatched due to its difficult accessibility by land resources.

Upon being rescued by the GES helicopter team, the paraglider was transported to the Adeje helipad, where the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) ambulance personnel confirmed the paraglider’s moderate abrasions and back trauma, leading to their transfer to Hospiten Sur.

Tenerife firefighters also contributed to resolving the situation by securing the area for the helicopter to land at the helisurface, while Civil Guard agents assisted the CECOES 112 operational room in locating the paraglider’s position and providing guidance for the procedures.
