SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, January 19. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife will update and enhance the island’s strategy in relation to ‘Silver Plus’ tourism within the framework of the destination’s new marketing plan that is expected to be approved during this year.
The agreement, which was signed by all political groups during the last Plenary Commission on Tourism, includes the planning, optimization and implementation of personalized tactical actions, as well as participation in specialized fairs and national and international campaigns in relation to this specific tourist market.
Likewise, the approved motion contains the will of the Tenerife Council to continue promoting ‘Silver Plus’ tourism on the island, improving its distributed impact on the economy of Tenerife.
This market of people over 55 years of age is currently positioned as one of those with the greatest growth potential in Europe, and especially in destinations such as Tenerife.
According to the World Tourism Organization, by 2050, people aged 60 and over will make more than 2 billion international trips.
