The Cabildo will promote the improvement of road safety in the road network of the Anaga Rural Park. Félix Fariña, counselor of the Canarian Coalition for Proponent Training) appreciates the support of all the political groups to approve a motion in the Sustainability, Roads, Innovation and Culture commission.
Fariña points out that it is necessary to “improve the pruning protocol in the grove, especially crown pruning and clearing of weeds from the edge of island roads, as well as cleaning ditches and ravines.” The motion also contemplates “improving the canopies of the stops on the TF-134, TF-136 and TF-12”, as well as improving and updating the necessary signage at dangerous points.
“We must act especially where narrow or poorly visible roads converge with rural settlements, as is the case at the entrance to Caserío Las Cuevas or in areas with a lot of activity such as the Taganana funeral home,” explains Fariña.
The Cabildo 0 the placement of pedestrian crossings at both points. Likewise, it will assess, from a technical and environmental point of view, the installation of lighting for the TF-134 tunnel, ensuring the lines that cross it. Finally, it will promote an inspection of the pavement of the insular roads of the Anaga Rural Park to determine at what points it is necessary to rehabilitate them.
CC also reminds the government group of the need to execute the proposal and apply the Canine Beaches Plan approved by the Corporation.
