SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, January 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife has allocated a total of 284,404.41 euros for the restoration of movable property of the Diocese of Tenerife.
This subsidy is part of the actions of the Historical Heritage Program 2023-2027 and is regulated by an agreement signed with the Bishopric, an entity that also collaborates by co-financing the aforementioned measure with an amount of 61,818.23 euros.
The insular director of Historical Heritage, Isabel de Esteban explains in a note that the objective of this aid is to “conserve the extraordinary ecclesiastical movable heritage it treasures and contribute so that said historical-artistic wealth can be preserved for the cultural enjoyment of all Tenerife residents. “.
The subsidy will allow the second phase of the restoration of the Señor Preso altarpiece in the Concepción church of La Orotava to be carried out; the restoration of the silver pedestal of the Lord of Humility and Patience in the Church of Our Lady of the Conception of La Laguna; restoration of the altarpiece of the Virgen del Carmen; restoration of the titular image in the parish of San Bartolomé in Tejina; restoration of the glazed ceramic baptismal font located in the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción; restoration of the coffered ceiling of the main altar in the Third Order chapel of San Francisco in Santa Cruz de Tenerife; the restoration of the altarpiece of the Blessed Sacrament of the parish of Our Lady of the Snows in Taganana; the canvas ‘Trinity of the Earth’ located in Nuestra Señora de la Peña de Francia in Puerto de la Cruz and the coffered ceiling of the Main Chapel of the parish of Nuestra Señora del Pilar in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
