The newly released series ‘Las noches de Tefía’, whose exterior locations were filmed in part in Tenerife, already has a notable acceptance both from the public and from critics. The Atresmedia production, which began broadcasting at the end of June, has accumulated a total of four nominations for the Iris Awards 2023 -which will be delivered next November-.
These awards are granted by the Academy of Sciences and the Arts of Spanish Television, having a choice of all the television channels that broadcast in Spain openly at the national or regional level on DTT, lately it also includes the TV channels included in the family package of Movistar+.
More than 600 applications
For this year’s edition, the Academy has had to assess between more than 622 applications presented by television, production companies and members of the Academy from the programs, series and other formats broadcast during the last campaign. There are about 200 more than in the 2022 edition.
‘The Nights of Tefía’ will choose to four prizes in the categories of: ‘Best Fiction’; ‘Best Fiction Screenplay’; ‘Best Fiction Production’ and ‘Best Actor -Patrick Criado-‘.
Created by Miguel del Arco, playwright, screenwriter, stage director, actor and one of the most influential voices on the theater scene in our country, Las noches de Tefía narrates one of the most unknown episodes in our history: the Francoist concentration camp that existed between the 50s and 60s in Fuerteventura where those convicted by the Law of Vagrants and Crooks were confined.
Las noches de Tefía has been recorded in natural exteriors of Tenerife and Madrid. The broad cast of the series is made up of Marcos Ruiz (Airam/La Bambi), Patrick Criado (La Vespa), Miquel Fernández (Charli), Israel Elejalde (Don Anselmo), Roberto Álamo (La Viga), Jorge Perugorría (Airam) , Carolina Yuste (Nisa), Raúl Prieto (Boncho), Javier Ruesga (La Sissi), Luifer Rodríguez (La Pinito), Jorge Usón (Conde Fénix), Mingo Ávila (La Rata), Jorge Yumar (Perico), Ana Wagener ( Agueda) and Ciro Miró (Carlavilla), among others.
