crazy Tenerife food in San Mateo

Gran Canaria has always been an island that has known how to value the gastronomic wealth coming from different places, not only from the world, but also from Canary Islands. On this occasion, the Vega de San Mateo It is the setting where Guachinche ‘El Manicomio’ has come to settle, a restaurant that combines the traditional concept of these typical establishments of Tenerife (good wine and better grilled meat) with the innovations that have made guachinches evolve (scrambled eggs with chorizo or chistorra or mushrooms stuffed with almogrote).

Located in the heart of the town (El Agua street, number 15), next to the famous Marketis located in the old premises formerly occupied by another legendary restaurant in the area, the ‘Los Nogales’ buffet.

The taste of experience

With a careful presentation, the owners (who already have establishments established in the Tenerife gastronomic agenda such as ‘La Ruta del Guachinche’, in El Púpito, for example) have taken the decision to bring its formula to Gran Canaria, to offer “the best hot dishes”, counting on the experience of a Tenerife cook who has already worked in different establishments on that island. All this, with more than reasonable prices.

Without a doubt, good news not only for Saint Matthew but for all those who want to enjoy the ‘chicharreras’ delicacies.
