A Tenerife nightclub that was evicted on Christmas Eve faces five sanctions for excess capacity

The Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has issued up to five sanction reports against a nightclub that had to be evicted last Christmas Eve for exceeding the permitted capacity, by selling 1,300 tickets for a party when they only had authorization for 150 people.

The venue in question is the Sala Dubai, located in the El Mayorazgo industrial estate, where a party called Univerzzzo had been organized.

The police action began as a result of numerous calls alerting them to what was happening at the premises, where the officers found more than 660 people inside and another 400 outside for a party for which the City Council had authorized a capacity of 150 people.

The spokesperson for the Local Police, Benito Fortes, explained that the establishment was operating as a nightclub when it had requested another type of license, and numerous infractions were also detected, including the absence of personnel at the entrances to control the capacity.

Finally, the party had to be suspended and the eviction took place for several hours, even forcing traffic to be cut off on the roads around the establishment. The Urban Planning Management will now be the one to investigate the file and determine whether or not a sanction is appropriate.

What happened was also reported on social networks with messages in which images of the premises full of people and several Police patrols outside were shared.
