He IES Benito Pérez Armasin Santa Cruz de Tenerifereceived a visit from the PROA+ Support Team of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports in charge of the Palanca Activity “Management of change”, which confirmed the transformation of the center’s culture towards an inclusive school that guarantees the success of all students, with special attention to those who are in a vulnerable situation.
This center, which has participated in PROA+ since the 2021-2022 academic year, received a visit from Carlos Arrieta Antón, member of the PROA+ Support Team of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPD) and in charge of the Lever Activity “Change Management”, which focuses on the process of preparing the PEM (Strategic Improvement Plan) of the center. During this day he was accompanied by Verónica Formoso Cervera and Nuria Fernández Sosvilla, technicians from the PROA+ Area of the Ministry of Education Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands; the zone inspector, Luisa Olivera González, and Tomás Álvarez Luis, PROA+ advisor of the Teachers’ Center (CEP) of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The objective of the visits carried out by the MEFPD Support Teams is to identify good practices in educational centers, the transfer of knowledge and obtain the opinion of the educational community, as well as the improvement of the Catalog of Palanca Activities offered by the Ministry.
Throughout the day, various meetings were held with the center management, the Program coordinator and the counselor, as well as representatives of the teachers, families and students, thus addressing the needs raised by the entire educational community.
During these meetings, the process that has been followed to prepare the Strategic Improvement Planning (PEM) of the IES Benito Pérez Armas was revealed and the results and progress that have been achieved with its implementation and development were presented.
The PROA+ Support Team of the MEFPD will send the center a report with proposals for improvement, which is intended to be an instrument for reflection and to encourage internal debate that helps the center move forward in achieving its strategic objectives.
