Maritime Rescue has rescued two boats with 97 migrants, one of them deceased, in the early hours of this Thursday when they were in waters near the island of El Hierro, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center of 112 of the Canary Islands and Rescue. .
The first canoe, with 42 people on board, has been rescued by the Adhara sea rescue after the Shogun sailboat located it about 67.5 kilometers south of El Hierro. They were later transferred to the port of La Restinga, where after being assisted by the medical device, they were all in good condition.
The second boat has been rescued by the Polimnia sea guard after another sailboat sighted it when it was about 135.18 kilometers away. On this occasion, 55 people were on board the canoe, one of them deceased, and when they were transferred to the La Restinga dock, three of the migrants had to be transferred to a hospital.
