Güímar reinforces services with 32 workers

Güímar restores 2023 is a project through which the Güímarero City Council hires 32 unemployed people to reinforce municipal services. This week the House of Culture hosted the presentation of this program, which has the support of the Canary Islands Service of Employment through the line of subsidies aimed at the development of employment generating projects.

This initiative is configured as a training plan aimed at long-term unemployed people in which the employability of the workers participating in this municipal project will be improved, explains the Güimarero mayor, Gustavo Pérez.

The actions entrusted to the 32 beneficiaries of Güímar restores 2023 will be carried out in several of the centers that make up the urban area, as well as in El Puertito de Güímar, in the hamlet of El Socorro, as well as in localities located in the medians and the coast of Agache.

The work they will carry out will consist of small masonry works, such as improving steelwork, curbs or adapting the pavement, among others. The councilor explained that most of the interventions included in the project correspond to work aimed at improving accessibility.

It should be noted that the student workers of the Güímar restores 2023 project also receive training in key skills during 40% of the period of validity of the project and their contract, while the remaining 60% will be used to carry out the works and services of interest. general and social that configure it.

The 32 workers of this initiative are hired by the Güímar City Council for a maximum period of eight and a half months. These are personnel who belong to the categories of teachers (2) who are entrusted with the task of providing the planned training in key competencies; There are also three construction managers, who assume the responsibility of directing and scheduling the different jobs; an administrative assistant, who will support the management of the project, and with 26 construction workers, who are the student-workers of Güímar restaura 2023, concluded the mayor, Gustavo Pérez.
