SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 9. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands has approved in today’s session to allocate an item of 574,741.57 euros to finance the social integration aid Canarian Insertion Benefit (PCI).
On September 9, 2021, through an Order of the Ministry of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth, 30 million euros were distributed, a State subsidy aimed at financing projects for the development of programs to fight against Poverty and basic benefits of social services in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.
After accounting for the files, a credit was available that amounted to 864,423.70 euros. This remainder was divided into an item of 289,655.57 euros, which was allocated to the municipalities for the same objectives, and the rest, these 574,768.13 euros, which will be used to increase the allocation of the budgetary application aimed at the care and integration of families in a situation of social exclusion or at risk of suffering from it through PCI aid.
Currently, in the Canary Islands a total of 10,842 families are beneficiaries of the Canarian Insertion Benefit, double the number that received it in 2019.
