They rescue a canoe with more than 200 people in Tenerife

The sea guard ‘Calíope’ rescued last Friday a canoe with more than 200 people, one of them deceasedwho was standing south of the Tenerife island and that it had departed from some point on the African coast, as reported by official Maritime Rescue sources.

The rescue began on Friday afternoon, after the Sasemar 101 plane located the canoe stationary about 82 miles south of Granadilla. The Maritime Rescue Center in Tenerife mobilized the sea guard ‘Calíope’ and the patrol boat ‘Río Tajo’ of the Civil Guard.

One deceased and four semi-unconscious

At around 11:20 p.m. the sea guard ‘Calíope’ rescued the more than 200 people, sub-Saharan, who were on board and reported that one person was dead and four were semi-unconscious.
