SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Correcaminos Solidarios association has organized next Friday, October 27, a solidarity concert at the Aguere Cultural Hall, in La Laguna, with the aim of raising funds for the projects that this association develops in Gambia.

The concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will feature performances by the Tenerife groups Glass and La Cangreja. Tickets are now available at Canary Ticket for 10 euros. In addition, the option of purchasing a ticket in ‘row zero’ is offered for those who want to contribute in solidarity and cannot attend the concert.

The proceeds will go entirely towards the maintenance of the Fass Chamen School, the bike loan project for Primary and Secondary students and university scholarships in The Gambia.

Correcaminos Solidarios was born in 2014 within a mountain racing team from Tenerife. It arose with the idea of building a children’s school in Fass Chamen, a depressed village in the interior of the Gambia, where almost 200 unschooled children lived at the time.

The almost utopian dream of those mountain runners became a reality a year later with the inauguration in September 2015 of the Fass Chamen Nursery School. Currently there are more than 280 students and 12 teachers, from Kindergarten to sixth grade.
