The Orchard Tapa Route, in which almost 60 Santa Cruz establishments participated, already has winners. This has been reported by the CEO of the Development SocietyCarmen Pérez, who explained that “first place went to Il Pizzo with the ‘Mini Pinsa de berenjena’ cover, second place went to D’Panas Coffee Bar with the cover ‘Vegetables in tempura’, and third place was Ayumana Real Food with the cover ‘Mini basket of vegan ceviche’, and in addition to the accreditation diploma, they will be promoted on the social networks of the Product Club Degusta Santa Cruz Anaga Smart Destination”.
In this sense, Pérez has pointed out that “for more than two weeks, residents and tourists had the opportunity to take a culinary tour throughout the city, through tapas made with ingredients of local origin and/or from the islands.” , which were merged with the creativity of each establishment and which has been a complete success” and added that “we are very satisfied with this edition, in fact, the webapp registered more than 14,600 visits, more than 2,600 unique users were counted and almost 1,000 votes to determine the winning gastronomic proposals of this edition.”
“This edition was focused on preparations with vegetable products, vegetables and/or fruit in particular, from the Anaga Massif, and consisted of a tapa and a drink for 4 euros,” said Pérez, who added that “on this occasion there has also been awarded to three users who registered their votes through the webapp, and who will receive a voucher worth 50 euros to enjoy in any of the gastronomic establishments registered on the route.”
Likewise, the CEO of the Development Society, Carmen Pérez, recalled that “the restaurant sector represents almost 10% of the economy of Santa Cruz, it is one of the most dynamic sectors of the capital and is a benchmark in terms of to the quality values that it represents” and added that “according to our data, today Santa Cruz has 1,193 restaurant establishments, so it is a pillar of the economy of Santa Cruz and from the City Council we also want to help energize it, to generate economy, hence, we celebrate this type of initiatives.”
The “Orchard Cover Route” is part of the program of activities promoted by the Santa Cruz City Council within the framework of the Product Club “Degusta Santa Cruz Anaga Smart Destination”, specifically, in Line of Action 10 Anaga Smart Destination of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy “Anaga en el corazón – Santa Cruz de Tenerife”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the framework of the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain (POPE) 2014 – 2020, and by the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
