ELECTRICITY PUNTA LARGA SCHOOL | The Punta Larga school, without the necessary energy to work normally

Since the course began on September 11, the Early Childhood and Primary Education Center (CEIP) Punta Larga, in Candelaria, It does not have the electricity supply it needs for the normal development of the activity in the center. As parents explain, the supply they have is reserved to heat the food offered to students in the dining room service through catering. «The center is with the light Under minimum», a situation that may continue.

“At the beginning of the course they sent us a circular in which they informed us that due to incidents with the electricity supply, they could not answer emails or telephones as normally as always, so they asked for our understanding,” they state. . «This is not normal at this time and at this point in the course. A solution is urgently needed».

He Candelaria City Council is the holder of the energy supply contract. His municipal government assures that he has been “working for months on improving the electrical infrastructure of all the educational centers in the municipality.”

In the specific case of the CEIP Punta Larga, he explains that “the corresponding review was carried out and an improvement project linked to the new dining room was carried out by the Ministry of Education. After carrying out this work, the City Council has carried out the procedures for contracting the increase in power. “The process is very advanced and we trust that it will be completed as soon as possible to complete the procedure.” For now, The students arrive at seven in the morning and the Punta Larga school remains dark.

The City Council regrets the inconveniences that the educational center may be experiencing and has decided to lower the consumption of the entire center based on the needs of each moment.

New dining room

The unrest in the school community is also caused by the delay in the completion of the work on the new school cafeteria. And the delay will increase. “The company awarded the work has refused to continue with it due to discrepancies with the modified budget, so the City Council will request a new addendum to extend the execution period,” which expires on December 31 after three extensions.

«The objective of the City Council is to have the new infrastructure of the school cafeteria with the maximum guarantees and in the shortest possible time, for which it is working intensively in order to solve these incidents and put this service into operation “so demanding in the new dependencies,” says the local government.

«It can be understood that there are delays, but not that Once the course has started, they assure us that they have just received authorization of Education that they already had before the summer, as they informed us then,” the parents point out. The work has been stopped since October 2022.
