The work against the forest fire in the north of the Tenerife island have passed during the past night of calm way as no major reactivations occurred.
In this sense, at 8:00 a.m. this Saturday There was a reactivation in the Las Banderolas area (Pino Alto) which was quickly stabilized.
This is reflected in the latest update of the situation carried out by the Cabildo until 10:00 a.m., which adds that the fight against the fire will continue this day with a device made up of 90 ground troops and 8 helicopters; while the affected area is about 40 hectares.
For this Saturday, temperatures above 30 degrees and some gusts of wind are expected, Therefore, the residents of the areas in which the extinguishing means are working are asked to avoid unnecessary movements as much as possible so that the extinguishing and emergency vehicles can use the roads.
Fire ban
On the other hand, the Tenerife Council has remembered that it has been activated since Tuesday, October 3grade 1 measures for the prevention of forest fires by the alert declaration decreed by the Government of the Canary Islands.
Thus, It is prohibited to make fires outdoors, whether barbecues, bonfires, stoves, gas stoves; as well as the use of any pyrotechnic material in risk areas; and the use of any type of machinery or tool that can project sparks (brush cutters, welding equipment or cutting radials) was suspended.
