The Canarian Police Force, through its Surveillance and Administrative Inspection Unit (UVIA), conducted an inspection at a zoo in the south of Tenerife, which included a simulated animal escape. During the exercise, it was discovered that the zoo personnel were using weapons from the 7.1 RA list to anesthetize the animals without having the required legal documentation.
The confiscated weapons lacked a permit for ownership and authorization for use, essential elements for their legal operation. This situation represents a significant violation of the regulations that govern the use of this type of equipment in facilities that house wildlife.
