Adeje has started its patron saint festivities with the traditional proclamation by Adeje owner José Luis Delgado Sánchez, Euroengineer and technical telecommunications engineer. The opening ceremony of these festivities in honor of the Virgin of the Incarnation was completed with the concert “Crossroads, voices in the distance”, with Cristina Ramos and the Band of the Musical Board of the Historic Villa of Adeje.
Delgado highlighted the importance of the midlands of Adeje, “life in the midlands takes place in a virgin environment, the majority of which is a protected natural area. Some will call it luck; We call it adequate territorial planning. Sometimes we are accused of being responsible for wild urban planning, but this is ignorance because 75% of the territory is protected, 25% is where we live and where we generate wealth. I invite you to go up and walk through our midlands to get drunk on its aroma, without seeing roads or vehicles. I invite you to go down from El Sombrerito to Las Lajas park, from there to Ifonche, and then down through Carrasco to Adeje. They will encounter a municipality that they do not know and that we must know because it is part of our house.
For his part, the mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, expressed his excitement at being able to carry out such an emotional event in a new space at the service of culture with capacity for more than 500 people and the most current technology. Rodríguez Fraga focused his speech on several evocations, “the first the place where we are. We are celebrating plural Adeje in the auditorium, where those of us who were born here, those who have come, those who have chosen this place as the vital space to develop their activity coexist. That is the Adeje we want, modern but supportive and anchored in the best values. This space reminds us of that present that must lead us to a better future.”
The town crier said that “in 15 months the chaos we have will change. I feel proud to have carried out the task that José Miguel and Pedro Martín gave me. In addition, I prepared the work with two works that are essential, from San Isidro to Oroteanda with a third lane and from Oroteanda to los Cristianos with another lane and a connection to the Sur hospital. In addition, we managed to award the false tunnel between the tourist area and Fañabé that will allow highway traffic and city traffic.”
