A man dies after being rescued with symptoms of drowning in the south of Tenerife

A 65-year-old man died this Thursday after being rescued with symptoms of drowning on the Montaña Amarilla beach, in the Tenerife municipality of Arona, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands.

The event occurred around 1:57 p.m., when an alert was received at the Emergency and Security Coordination Center requesting medical assistance for a person who had been pulled from the sea by bathers with signs of drowning and who was unconscious.

The bathers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers on this person, under the instructions of the health coordinators of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), while medical teams from the SUC and Primary Care were transported to the scene.

The medical team personnel performed advanced resuscitation maneuvers on the affected person, but to no avail, so they confirmed his death.
