SANTIAGO DEL TEIDE CITY COUNCIL PRESS

More than 1,000 kg of waste were removed this past Saturday, September 9, in the “Coast Cleaning 2023” event that was promoted by Landmar Hotels in collaboration with the Santiago del Teide City Council, the Marine Vigilantes Network, Terramare Mediambiente, Environmental Participation and Volunteering of Tenerife and different levels.

In it, the participants helped remove more than 1 ton of waste that will no longer harm the marine life of the coast. The activity, which included different activities throughout its development, ended with the release of a turtle from the La Tahonilla wildlife recovery center and a wonderful paella for the attendees.

The Santiago del Teide City Council wants to thank the involvement of the different participating entities and associations as well as the volunteers who were part of this activity whose objective was to contribute to the conservation of the marine environment and raise awareness among users and coastal users about the need to consider healthy habits with the marine ecosystem.
