The Casa del Cuento hosted the presentation of the poster for the Los Silos International Storytelling Festival, which will be held from December 5 to 9. The author, Patricia Delgado, creates a work in pastel blue and pink tones, a painting in which several species of Canarian fauna appear around a fantastic figure in full metamorphosis.
The delicacy of the work also reflects landscapes typical of the Canary Islands, without leaving behind the place where the Los Silos International Story Festival takes place. In this way, the Islands are united since the director of the Silense event, Ernesto Rodríguez Abad, was clear that this edition he wanted a Canarian to be the author of the poster.
Rodríguez Abad confessed that since he found the theme for 2023 (the bestiary) he thought of Patricia Delgado to create the poster. “And it is clear that I was not wrong,” highlighted the festival director.
For Delgado, Rodríguez Abad’s call “was a complete surprise. I accepted immediately and then I realized the responsibility that came with making a poster for a festival like this,” he explained.
Patricia Delgado has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna and master in Engraving from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (Belgium). Although in Belgium she trained as a teacher in the discipline of engraving, her teaching aspiration took a backseat to “devoting myself to drawing and engraving, a discipline for which I felt and still feel a true passion,” she highlighted during the presentation, an event that had a of interview.
Delgado is currently an engraving craftsman and has not left the teaching side because she teaches workshops in this discipline both inside and outside of Canary Islands.
