He PSOE and the Popular Party sign a government agreement whereby the local leader of the PP, Andrés Martínez, will assume the Mayor’s Office of Arico during the last year and a half of the mandate, taking over from the socialist Olivia Delgado, councilor since June 17. With this, the government group adds eight councilors (six from the PSOE and two from the PP), one more than is necessary to have an absolute majority.
The mayoress signed on Monday the decree that modifies the mayoral tenures and the distribution of councilors in force since June 28. Hereinafter, Andrés Martínez (PP) will be the first deputy mayor, Ariam Álvarez (PSOE), the second; Eudalia Pestano (PP), the third, and Agustín Tejera (PSOE), the fourth.
With the new distribution of areas, the Popular Party manages Planning of Works and Urbanism, Sports and Youth, which is assumed by Andrés Martínez, and Eudalia Pestano is responsible for Citizen Participation, Tourism, Local and Economic Development, Equality, Industry and Transport.
The PSOE is in charge EmploymentPublic Services and Works, Parties, Contracting, Housing, Coasts and Ports, in addition to Historical Heritage, which remains in the hands of Ariam Álvarez; Agustín Tejera is responsible for the Environment and Waste, Internal Regime, Human Resources, Social Welfare; Health, Sanitation and Addictions; Primary Sector, Culture, Education, Animal Welfare and the Elderly.
The mayoress, Olivia Delgado, is also in charge of Institutional Relations, Citizen Security and Mobility; Economy, Treasury, Budgets and Municipal Patrimony.
As delegate councilors, Sebastián González manages Animal Welfare and the Elderly, José Miguel Beby is responsible for the Environment and Waste, as well as the Primary Sector, and Laura Morales is in charge of Employment, Housing, Coasts and Ports.
