A GES helicopter rescues an injured hiker in Paisaje Lunar, in Granadilla



A woman has been injured after suffering a fall while hiking in Paisaje Lunar, in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

The event occurred around 1:45 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert that a hiker had fallen and could not continue the march, so Cecoes immediately activated the resources necessary emergency.

A rescue helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES), members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium and an Immediate Emergency Response Team (ERIE) from the Red Cross traveled to the scene.

The GES helicopter rescued the injured person and transferred her to the Tenerife North Airport. There, a basic life support ambulance from the SUC was waiting for her, whose personnel provided health care for the affected person and she transferred her to the Hospital Ntra. Sra. De Candelaria after presenting moderate ankle trauma.

Firefighters from the Consortium and ERIE from the Red Cross collaborated with the emergency services.
