On the occasion of the celebration of the festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, San Andrés lived yesterday, Sunday, the big day of this celebration, with the shipment of the image at the wharf of the Fishermen’s Association. At six o’clock in the afternoon the religious function in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel took place, at the conclusion of which the maritime-land procession began, which made its usual route through the streets of the town to the wharf of the Fishermen’s Guild. After the floral offering, the image was carried on the shoulders of the fishermen to the boat that was waiting for it, to then make a journey along the coast to the beach of Igueste de San Andrés.
The festivities began last Friday with a popular festival in the vicinity of the Plaza de la Iglesia, enlivened by Grupo Clase Aparte. On Saturday, starting at six in the afternoon, a variety festival was held in the same space with the participation of Agrupación Ágora and Lot Acosta; which gave way to a festival with the presence of the musical group Los Concejales. Yesterday, Sunday, the different activities began at nine in the morning, with a parade that announced the children’s party.
