Puerto de la Cruz will host the eighth edition of the Phe Festival on August 18 and 19, which will include an eclectic artistic line-up that translates into more than twenty hours of live music and will feature the British band Orbital, in what will be their first live performance in the Canary Islands, and the Argentine rapper Trueno, who is also making his debut on the archipelago’s stages.

The mayor of Puerto de la Cruz and Councilor for Culture, Marco González, has highlighted that it is “an exceptional appointment in the summer calendar of festivals in the Canary Islands and an event that is a benchmark in the island and national sphere.” “There are many festivals but few with the awareness that it is done in Puerto de la Cruz and a real commitment to its environment,” said Gonzalez.

For his part, the vice-president of the Cabildo de Tenerife and insular Councilor for Tourism, Lope Afonso, congratulated the organization of the Phe Festival for being “a reality that is no longer emerging to be a consolidated and successful product”: “Eight years ago Phe Festival arrived in Puerto de la Cruz to tell what indie music was, being the first festival of its kind. Such has been the success that after eight editions it has established itself as a national and international reference”.

The insular Councilor for Culture, José Carlos Acha, also appreciated the commitment of the Phe Festival in this new edition and the fact that it works with music and culture together with tourism and the participation of the social environment. “We value the example that it represents for other initiatives, an event with a proposal and values that can be replicated, designed for a public of diverse ages and tastes, musically eclectic but appropriate in its combination,” said Acha.

For his part, Ulises Acosta, co-director of the Phe Festival, stressed that they continue to bet on a medium format event, following an almost gourmet model but without losing the popular character, and work with limited capacity “to enjoy the experience with comfort, leisure and a pleasant way of living it, avoiding queues and crowds”. He also recalled that this year “very affordable access and consumption prices (…) are maintained to generate a quality vacation experience.”

Orbital, The Reytons, Second, Jimena Amarillo, Sexy Zebras, Bala, Rocío Saiz, Adora and Antiplancton are the artists who will star in the first day of live shows on Friday the 18th in the two usual stages of the festival; while on Saturday the 19th it will be the turn of Trueno, Arde Bogotá, Natalia Lacunza, Shinova, Rocío Márquez & Bronquio, Morreo, Ghouljaboy, Hoonine and Zurych.

Subscriptions and day tickets to attend the festival are on sale on the Tickety.es platform (https://tickety.es/event/phe-festival-2023).
