The festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora de La Esperanza, in the municipality of El Rosario, will begin tomorrow, Saturday, July 22, with the celebration of IX Popular Race, which will depart at 10:00 am, from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. will participate 250 athletes, who will run for the benefit of the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation (Fundame). The program of activities will last until August 12 and includes, among other acts, the Magicians’ Ball, on July 29, and the Pilgrimage, on August 6.
After the start of the festivities this Saturday, with the Popular Race, on Wednesday the program of activities will continue with the presentation of the candidates and candidates to Romera and Romero Mayor, at La Casa de la Cultura, at 8:00 p.m. The election gala will take place on Friday, July 28, at 9:00 p.m., in the Plaza del Adelantado, with performances by Lucrecia and Pepe Benavente.
On Saturday, July 29, starting at 8:30 p.m., in the Adelantado and Town Hall squares, the traditional Dance of Magos La Manta Esperancera will be held. It will feature performances by the folk groups Amigos de La Esperanza, Agrupación Folclórica Los Majuelos, Las Parrandas Bentahod, Los Muchachos and Pal’ Porrón, and the orchestras Tenerife, Revelation and Wamanpy. The El Rosario Town Hall recalls that in order to enjoy the Magicians’ Ball it is essential to go in traditional, typical or fisherman’s clothing, and tennis shoes and jeans are totally prohibited. The dance will continue until 4:00 p.m.
On Sunday, July 30, the Plaza del Ayuntamiento will host, starting at 10:00 a.m., the X Minis Exhibition. And in the Plaza del Adelantado, at 7:00 p.m., the IX Festival of Soloists will take place, with the voices of Iván Quintana, Almudena Hernández, Joel Rodríguez, Patricia Muñoz and Mari Carmen Segura.
Next Friday, August 4, will take place, starting at 7:00 p.m., in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the institutional struggle, “act recovered last year.” On the same day, at 9:00 p.m., the Youth Concert will be held, with Ray Castellano, also in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
The program of events will continue on Saturday, August 5 with the 1st Villa de La Esperanza Horse Ring, which will take place at 11:00 am, on Víctor Zurita street; the Solemn Procession of the Virgen de La Esperanza, starting at 7:00 p.m., and the celebration of a festival enlivened by the Los Ideales and Latin Sound orchestras, starting at 10:00 p.m., in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
On Sunday, August 7, the pilgrimage of La Esperanza will take place, which will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will go through the main streets of the Villa. At the end, there will be an “afternoon” festival, with the Revelación de Barranco Hondo and Wamampy orchestras. The festival program also includes hiking trails, commercial revitalization, children’s activities and the celebration of the Day of the Elderly, scheduled for Saturday, August 12.
