Nine years of public service for the citizens of the Island. It is the balance of the audiovisual commitment of the Cabildo de Tenerife, a channel born in 2014 that, 66 full days of broadcasting later, maintains commitment to public service intact. It includes the full broadcast of the plenary sessions or the preparation of a file for the use of the islanders, without forgetting advertising campaigns such as those for the buses of Titsa.

The Council of Tenerife maintains the concept of public service for its audiovisual channel nine years after it was born in 2014. The intention remains as it was on the first day: to bring corporate activity closer to the citizens of the Island through the online television signal. They have been the equivalent of 66 continuous days of issuance through the resource developed by the Technology Area of the Technological and Renewable Energies Institute (ITER). It currently reaches outstanding quotas, both in the straight, with example in the recording of the plenary sessions, as in the storage of institutional content, including advertising campaigns such as those of the Titsa buses. A valuable file for users in short.

The online channel Tenerife TV (https://canaltenerifetv.com/) is an audiovisual content management platformdesigned, developed and managed by the Department of Development of the Technology Area of ITER, an entity of the Cabildo.

The insular Minister of Innovation, Juan José Martínez, sHe points out that the television channel of the Cabildo de Tenerife “has become a benchmark in the transmission of live events and in the dissemination of audiovisual content related to culture, tourism, the economy and other outstanding aspects of the Island.” Martínez adds that “the effort and dedication of the entire team behind this project have been fundamental to achieving these achievements.”

Canal Tenerife TV has carried out more than 266 live broadcasts with a continuous broadcast time of 66 days, 19 hours and 30 minutes. In addition, 285 live publications have materialized and accumulated 28,445 files or 4,576 videos published on social networks.

The content platform was designed and is managed from ITER

LThe collaboration of the different areas of the Cabildo has made it possible to expand the offer of live broadcasts and audiovisual content on demand to provide viewers with the opportunity to enjoy sporting events, congresses, conferences or other relevant events. This diversified approach has made it possible to attract a broader audience and strengthen the presence on the Internet.

Tenerife TV has demonstrated a constant commitment to the live transmission of relevant events, as well as the plenary sessions of the Corporation in a desire for transparency and with the aim of reaching the public. With an advanced technological infrastructure, virtualized in the supercomputer Teide-ITER HPC, has been able to transmit outstanding events in Tenerife and beyond its borders to audiences in their homes in real time.

The online television channel has also managed to consolidate a solid catalog of audiovisual content focused on the production of its own content. It highlights the promotion of culture, tourism and the highlights of life in Tenerife. People from all over the world have had the opportunity to learn about and enjoy updated audiovisual information to strengthen the promotion of the island as a tourist destination.

On the other hand, Tenerife TV has managed to establish a close relationship with the audience through social networks by uploading content to platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

An example of innovation and quality in the world of digital television that also has the capacity to adapt to new forms of audiovisual content consumption and maintains its commitment to promoting local culture. A reference inside and outside the Island that intends to maintain its strength as an online television channel.
