Turned into a benchmark for dance, 28Masdanza will land in the capital of Gran Canaria with an ambitious program which proposes to hold its official sections in competition in the third week of the meeting, between October 18 and 21. Once the competitive section has been held, the International Contemporary Dance Festival of Canary Islands begin to his traditional journey through Tenerife, La GomeraIron, The Palm, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura with a selection of works by artists of different nationalities who have stood out for their high levels of quality and originality.
Thus, the Tour de Extensiones will begin with its inter-island tour at the Victoria Theater in Tenerife on Sunday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m., and on Monday, October 23, at 9:00 p.m., with the presentation of four performances from the solo contest; Chained (Greece), Leftovers (Canada), Speechless (Germany) and Liminal Phantoms (Sweden). In addition, the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín will also host the presentation of four works from the choreographic competition; Fàrisa (Greece), Breeze through the Soul (Israel), Oxymore (France) and I’ve Seen that Face Before (Italy).
The next stop will be in La Gomera on Monday, October 23, at 9:00 p.m., in the Insular Auditorium of the Colombian island with the representation of presenting Fàrisa, Breeze through the Soul, Doldrums and I’ve Seen that Face Before. In La Palma, the solos Leftovers and Speechless will take the stage on Wednesday, October 25, at 8:30 p.m. at the Teatro Circo de Marte; and the choreographies Fàrisa, Breeze through the Soul and I’ve Seen that Face Before. The same pieces will be presented on Thursday, October 26, at 8:30 p.m., in The iron at the Asabanos Cultural Center. A day later, at 8:00 p.m., they will do so in Lanzarote at the Víctor Fernández Gopar El Salinero Theater, and on Saturday, October 28, at 8:30 p.m., in Fuerteventura at the Insular Auditorium. Directed by the choreographer and dancer Natalia Medina, Masdanza will celebrate its official sections and the parallel sections from September 29 to October 28 thanks to the alliance of the production company Qué tal estás producciones with the Culture area of the City Council of The Gran Canarian palmsthrough Promotion of the City of the palms of Gran Canaria. The Festival also has the support of INAEM -Ministry of Culture and Sports- and the sponsorship of the Government of the Canary Islandsas well as the Council of Gran CanariaGran Canaria Tourism and Spanish Cultural Action (PICE Program).
