Sentenced to nine years in prison for burning a neighbor in the Canary Islands

Sentenced to nine years in prison for burn still neighbor in Tenerife. The Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has imposed a sentence of 9 years in prison and the payment of 116,000 euros to a man from Tejina, in Tenerife, who sprayed with gasoline and set fire to a neighbor of his.

The Court considers that all the assumptions exist to conclude that it is an attempt to murder and that there was a clear intent to harm the victim.

The events occurred in February 2022 when the complainant reportedly ran over the defendant who was on a motorcycle. Just at that moment he fled and did not attend to him, a previous fact that the sentence indicates does not justify what happened.

The defendant insisted that the victim had to take responsibility for his traffic accident. However, he did not succeed and in fact not only did he leave the place and did not pick him up at home to take him to the health center as he had requested, but also when he went to his home to demand that he take the blame again. and give him the vehicle insurance, the complainant maintained his refusal.

sentenced to nine years

At that moment, the man told him that he would fix it on his own. An expression indicating that he was going to take the justice by his hand.

For this reason, a little later he showed up at the victim’s house, which is close to his, and taking advantage of the fact that his back was turned, he sprayed him with gasoline.
