SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Aena has proceeded to the opening of the economic offers of the companies whose technical and architectural proposals for the integral remodeling of the Tenerife South Airport have passed the evaluation provided for in the tender and the UTE PROINTEC/EFEBEARQUITECTURA and WSP SPAIN-APIA have been selected with economic proposals of 3,946,130 euros and 4,195,018 euros, respectively, and three others have been ruled out.
The Aena Board of Directors must now approve the award at its meeting this July and specifically it involves two blocks, the drafting of the project to fully remodel the airport terminal area and architectural advice to the construction management during the execution of the works.
These files, Aena details in a note, are part of the “ambitious” comprehensive remodeling project that will be included in the DORA III proposal and that will involve an estimated initial investment of more than 300 million euros.
This project will involve the integration of the entire terminal area of the
airport, both from the architectural point of view and with the environment itself.
Among the planned improvements, and pending the drafting of the
final project, include the ordering and execution of new
parking lots and accesses; the review of urbanization and landscaping; the adequacy of the baggage reclaim hall; the expansion of the billing and boarding areas, or the incorporation of more commercial services.
Aena indicates that it makes a “huge investment effort” to make this airport a benchmark among its peers at an international level, offering modern infrastructures, in keeping with the territory they serve and focused on quality, innovation and sustainability.
During the first DORA 2017-2022, 159.4 million euros have been invested in the Tenerife Sur airport.
