The Virgen del Rosario will once again tour the neighborhoods of Valle de Guerra, after 20 years without doing so. On July 30, she will begin a journey that will take her through all the Vallero enclaves, including the coast, which will end on August 20. It was in 2003 when this tradition whose origin is lost in time was recovered. Then the parish priest of Valle de Guerra, Fermín León León, fondly remembered for his priestly holiness and dedication as a pastor, promoted the recovery of this rite, which consisted of the visit of the sacred image of the Virgin of the Rosary to different points and towns. from town. This became part of the heritage of the popular tradition of Valle de Guerra, thus expressing her devotion and love for the woman who, from her origins, was her beloved Patroness.

Popular expressions of faith and Marian piety were multiple in Valle de Guerra, some of which have prevailed over time, and others, unfortunately, have been lost. Among the latter were the luminaries of the “Pandorgas” that now with the studies carried out by Julio de Castro, and the love that characterizes the history and tradition of his people, he happily tries to recover, hoping to promote it among the youngest.
Twenty years ago, in the time of the beloved Don Fermín, the pilgrimage of the Virgin took place, with massive responses from all the residents. In 2017, that concern resurfaced again for the wonderful memory of that last visit and for the spiritual and fraternal fruits that it left in everyone’s hearts, and although it began to prepare, the pandemic prevented it.

In these days, in which the Bishop of the Diocese has been asked for the Canonical Coronation of the Virgin of the Rosary, and that the steps required by canon law are being taken to carry it out, the desire for her to return to Visit every corner of your town. Therefore, when the 20th anniversary of that first pilgrimage of the Virgin Nuestra Señora del Rosario is completed, the tradition is resumed.

The organization of this traditional religious act is carried out by the parish of the Virgen del Rosario, which has created a commission of volunteers and enthusiasts who work in the preparatory work, and who contact the residents of the different neighborhoods. so that there is the maximum possible participation, so that the message that the Virgin brings to her children can reach everyone.

In the same way, the organization has been able to perceive a lot of enthusiasm from the neighborhoods, and a lot of correspondence is expected from everyone, understanding the visit of the Virgin as a link and bond between the neighbors who are her children.

As far as tradition is concerned, it should be noted that it was a long time ago. It is not new, because in everyone’s memory is the last visit and the good that he did is evident in the memory.

Regarding the pilgrimage of the Virgin through the different neighborhoods of the town, it will begin with her leaving the temple on the afternoon of July 30, to which she will return on August 20 after even visiting the coast of the same town of Valle of war.

It goes without saying that the motivation of the inhabitants of the town of Valle de Guerra is full of morality and passionate fervor to see and touch their Virgen del Rosario.

According to the current parish priest, Julio Ribot, who has been a priest of the Valle de Guerra parish for 13 years, “since such an event has been raised in the different neighborhoods, different organizational groups have been formed around the places where the image of Our Lady, and everyone works with joy and immense desire for the patron saint of the town to visit every corner of it”.
