SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The former president of Vox in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Manuel Molina, affirmed this Friday that the internal crisis that the formation is experiencing – it does not present a list to Congress due to the resignation of its candidates – is due to people who ” comes to look for armchairs” and set up “chiringuitos”.
In an interview given to ‘Cope Canarias’ and collected by Europa Press, he has harshly charged against the councilor of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, Alejandro Gómez, who had been appointed head of the Congress list.
“We are the party of truth and we are demonstrating that the voters are being deceived,” he indicated, emphasizing that Gómez was elected mayor in the capital and before the corporation was established he already wanted to run in the General elections.
He has insisted that Gómez did not want to “work” for the Vox acronym in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, so he “goes to Madrid, meets people and they place him” at the head of the list for Congress. “This has hurt a lot to the people who have dedicated time to the game,” he added.
Molina has questioned that “friends are getting into the lists” and also charges against the management of two national deputy secretaries who have fired him “by WhatsApp” and without giving any explanation beyond a possible “loss of confidence” linked to the inadmissibility of the electoral list to the Congress.
He has commented that the resignation of several candidates at the last minute “is not an isolated act” but is due to a series of “very serious events” such as the alleged “verbal aggression” by Alejandro Gómez and a councilor from El Rosario against the current counselor of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Ana Salazar, who was treated for an anxiety crisis in La Granja park.
He has also said that the vice-secretaries cannot modify electoral lists and in Vox “they are including their friends” –positions two and three on the list were changed to Congress, for example– and there are no people who have been working from the beginning of the training.
Thus, he has given as an example that when he was appointed provincial manager in November 2021, the party in the province “was a solar” and only in 2022 almost 400 events were held and membership grew by more than 20%, with more militants than the Las Palmas province, which has the largest population. “They have loaded the structure,” he pointed out.
He has also pointed out that the Vox project still “represents” him because his principles “have not changed” but the people who “make decisions and harm the party” do not represent him.
Molina considers the electoral list for Congress to be lost after the latest ruling of the Constitutional Court — unless the Prosecutor’s Office appeals — and does not know if the Senate will at least be activated.
