The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, has announced this Monday that an agreement has been reached between the workers of Metropolitano de Tenerife and the company that ends a strike of more than four months and that began in the middle of the Carnival of Santa Tenerife cross.
In a video posted on Twitter, the president commented that the agreement includes the drafting of a new safety regulation that opens the door to seeking an “alternative” to the silica sand used in the braking system and increasing the workforce. of drivers.
Martín has thanked the “availability” of the workers to reach an agreement and the “good work” of the company manager, his team and the Cabildo staff, who have managed to combine positions to find “meeting points”.
The president also pointed out that the strike “has lasted too long” and the time had come “to redirect it.”
