SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands approved this Thursday the decree by which the suppression of the teachings leading to obtaining the official title of Master’s Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention is agreed by the Universidad del Atlántico Medio.
On March 2, 2022, the Governing Board requested the extinction of this degree from the General Directorate of Universities of the regional government, and in April of that year the Board of Trustees of the Universidad del Atlántico Medio unanimously agreed to the extinction of these teachings. .
Likewise, last January, the Universidad del Atlántico Medio requested that this official university title be suppressed and provided the extinction report, an unfavorable final report from the Canarian Agency for University Quality and Educational Evaluation (ACCUEE) of March 22. of 2022 regarding the accreditation of the evaluation, and Resolution of April 7, 2022 of the Council of Universities by which the accreditation is not renewed and in which it is communicated that it has begun to develop the extinction plan of said studies to the so that the students who are in progress complete it satisfactorily.
For its part, the ACCUEE examined the degree evaluation criteria through the Accreditation Commission, after which it issued a final report unfavorable to the renewal of the accreditation, and the University Council of the Canary Islands informed, favorably and unanimously , the proposal to abolish university education in February of this year, includes a note from the Executive.
