SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 26. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Socialist Party of Arona has demanded a public apology from the Canary Islands Coalition, Popular Party, Nueva Canarias y Más por Arona after accusing the PSOE of a case of alleged vote buying based on the screenshot of a group chat in which two friends hold a conversation and one of them, they say, would be the “seller” of their vote.
The PSOE has indicated in a statement that said person, Diego Darias Dos Santos, has published a post today on his Facebook account in which he explains that there has been no sale of votes, that he was having a conversation with friends in a group chat and that, in fact, it was a member of Más por Arona who distributed an “indiscriminately cut screenshot, to the point of having generated a great media commotion and, even, an unsubstantiated complaint about vote buying.”
The PSOE of Arona has insisted on the instrumental nature of this complaint and has warned that it is considering taking legal action against those who have promoted it, the purpose of which would be to alter the result of the polls for next Sunday.
