Dolores Espinosa, councilor for Unidas Podemos (Izquierda Unida-Podemos), criticizes the “decline” of cultural activities in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and denounces that the Canary Islands Coalición (CC) “marginalizes in its cultural policy” the neighborhoods, where it has never programmed theater, music or art exhibitions, nor is there a network of cultural centers.
“Cultural programming must be distributed equitably throughout the municipality, not only in the center, because culture increases social cohesion, builds citizenship and contributes to the improvement of urban spaces,” says the mayor, number 2 in the candidacy of Unidas Sí Podemos (IU-Podemos-Sí se puede) in Santa Cruz.
Espinosa points out that, if TEA or the Auditorium, which belong to the Cabildo, is left aside, the City Hall spaces have shown a decline in recent years.
