He Government of the Canary Islands has awarded ten educational centers for Infant, Primary, Secondary and Vocational Training with the Distinctions of Excellence for the second consecutive year. These awards recognize the innovative capacity of the centers to improve the teaching-learning processes and elements that affect the organization and functioning of the teaching practice.
Among the criteria valued to obtain the badge are the methodological and curricular qualification, the use and good use of technological resources, the organization and conditioning of learning spaces, pedagogical leadership, participatory culture, improvement of coexistence or participation in transformative projects.
The ten award-winning educational centers in this edition are: CIFP Zonzamas (Lanzarote); CEIP Agustin Millares Carlo (Fuerteventura); CEIP Igueste, Juan Cruz Ruiz, Maria Del Carmen Fernandez Melian and Tejina Princess (Tenerife); IES José Frugoni Pérez (La Rocha), Loin of Horseshoe and Perez Galdos (Gran Canaria); and San Matías (Tenerife).
Each award-winning center will receive an economic endowment of 2,000 euros during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years to contribute to improving quality and excellence. In addition, obtaining the badge entails the dissemination of the projects that have obtained it.
The purpose of this initiative is to recognize the effort and innovative capacity of Canarian educational centers, with the aim of promoting excellence in teaching practice and contributing to improving the quality of education on the islands.
