SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 25 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has awarded the creation of an application to improve mobility on the island of Tenerife.
Thus, with the name ‘Tu wawa’, this software solution will be the definitive materialization of the pilot project that was carried out in the municipalities of Fasnia and Arico to improve the Titsa service in those more dispersed nuclei where there are fewer frequencies and schedules. .
At the same time, the provision of on-demand transport service in the first of the eleven regional areas into which the island has been divided for this purpose is close to being put out to tender.
The service would preferably be provided by taxis from the region, whose first area of action will cover Arico, Fasnia and Güímar up to the Mirador de Pájara, reports the Cabildo in a note.
This new service, adapted for people with reduced mobility, will bring residents in remote houses or towns closer to the nearest bus stop.
To use it, the user must book their trip from an area currently without service to the nearest stop and their return, from one week to half an hour before, through the ‘Tu wawa’ application, which will be available for iOS and Android devices. .
Trips can only be paid for with the Ten+ card, both in its wallet version and with monthly passes, that is, Youth Pass or Canary Islands Resident Pass.
The price of the service is valid for transfers with the rest of the Titsa lines, applying the corresponding discount on the next trip.
Likewise, in the cases in which the subscriptions benefiting from the gratuity are used, this will be applied to the service, while in the occasions in which the cash card is used, a fixed rate will be paid.
The winning company has a period of three months to create the ‘Tu wawa’ application, a pioneering project that will improve the mobility of those people who live in more remote and dispersed places, bringing public transport closer to areas close to their homes to facilitate their displacements.
