The Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands is preparing for the elections that are scheduled to be held this year and that will have different areas: municipal elections, regional electionssy state -in the latter case it could be at the end of the year as long as the current government ends the legislature-.
Therefore, the canaries will have to choose in 2023 the representatives of the town councils of the 88 existing municipalities in the Archipelago, as well as those of the seven Cabildos and the regional Parliament.

When are the regional and municipal elections?

However, as established by law, the Cortes automatically expire four years after the previous elections, specifically, on November 10, so the date to call the polls cannot be later than December 10.
Just 25 days before November 10, the dissolution of the Chambers (Lower and Upper) will take place on October 16, after which the decree calling for general elections will be published in the Official State Gazette, in which it is indicated that it must be held 54 calendar days later (on December 10).
