SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 24 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
A man in his 30s has died Monday after being rescued from the sea with signs of drowning on Playa de la Cueva, in San Sebastián de La Gomera, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1- 2.
The event occurred around 10:35 a.m., when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert stating that a person was in trouble some 10 meters from the coast.
A bather in the area managed to rescue him from the sea in an unconscious state and with signs of drowning, so the intervention of the Maritime Rescue or the GES helicopter, which had been activated by 1-1-2, was not necessary.
Upon the arrival of the health resources, its personnel verified that the affected person was in cardiorespiratory arrest, for which reason they practiced basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers.
Finally, the maneuvers carried out did not give results and the health personnel confirmed the death of the person affected. Agents of the Civil Guard who went to the place were in charge of the corresponding proceedings.
