The Canary Islands Electoral Board has ratified that the Canary Nationalist Party (PNC) will be able to stand in the next elections on May 28 once it has certified its separation from the Canary Islands Coalition (CC).
“We were waiting for it like rain in May,” the president of the formation, Francisco Martín, told Europa Press, who has criticized the writings presented by CC in which he tried for “own interests” not to run for election.
“These are things that are not understood but each one acts accordingly,” he says.
Martín affirms that this conflict has not been sought by the PNC, on the contrary, he points out that they have been fighting for the union of Canarian nationalism for “many years” but “there are people who, out of personal interest, do not want this to be generated”, for what they have said “enough already”.
In this line, he charges against the “insularist” policies practiced by the CC “and the PNC does not go through there” since they try to “divide the Canary Islands more than it already is” and it is necessary to “do the opposite, avoid separation” because “It is not a reflection of Canarian society.”
Thus, facing the 28-M, he affirms that his party will go “alone” and will try to present itself in those institutions where it has “people prepared and willing” and after the elections they will resume their contacts to promote the union of nationalism because in the bases of the parties “there are no differences”. “The diversification of votes or acronyms are not understood,” he indicates.
