The Civil Guard ha arrested this Wednesday the president of the Canary Islands Athletics Federation, Alberto Hernándezinvestigated for alleged irregularities in the management of the organization, whose premises, in La Laguna (Tenerife), have been the subject of a search.
Civil Guard sources have confirmed to EFE that Hernández is being investigated for the alleged commission of the crimes of misappropriation and documentary falsification.
In the same information it is pointed out that Hernández agreed to the presidency of the Canarian Athletics Federation in January 2011 to November 2016, when they presented him with a motion of censure on suspicion that he had incurred in a crime of electoral fraud to benefit an election for the Spanish Federation. In 2018 he ran for the elections again and won them.
