In a statement, the regional Executive has explained that it is the highest institutional recognition of the autonomous administration for educational work in the field of non-university education in the archipelago.
Thus, in this edition ten candidacies have been selected, corresponding to six teachers with meritorious careers and exemplary dedication to teaching, two for their outstanding collaboration in achieving the objectives of participation, equity and quality, and two more to centers notorious teachers for their commitment to innovation and the adoption of good educational practices.
The award-winners in the faculty chapter are Rafael del Cristo Luis Suárez, director of IES Los Cristianos (Tenerife); Juan Carlos Guerra Cáceres, director of the CEE El Dorador (The Palm); María Dolores Romero Pérez, director of the CEIP Chaplaincy of Yágabo (Lanzarote); Juan Pedro López Jorge, director of IES Las Maretas (Lanzarote) and María de las Nieves Álvarez García and Carmen Teresa Navarro, both teachers at La Gomera.
In addition, they have been recognized for their outstanding Collaboration in the achievement of educational objectives Ramón Galán González, retired professor of Gran Canariaand Juan José Chinea Álvarez, counselor and currently a technician at the Ministry of Education.
Meanwhile, regarding the distinguished centers in this 2022 call CEIP Adolfo Topham (Lanzarote) and IES Luis Cobiellas Cuevas (La Palma) will be awarded for their merits in innovation and good practices..
March 31, institutional act

The autonomous Executive awards the Viera y Clavijo prizes annually to highlight the contribution of teachers, educational centers and groups of the educational community to improving the quality of public education in the Archipelago.
